On·Friday, April 27th, 2012·students from all seven secondary schools will·gather at BMLSS to celebrate good nutrition and health. Each school will be able to bring one bus load of students, approximately 36 students. The goal of this event is to showcase the best work in each school and share ideas for health promotion.
Participating students will recieve: a lunch bag with the·winning design, filled with nutrition related promotional materials and all participating entries will receive a certificate at the school level.
In case of a snow day, we are not sure what we will do! So pray for sunny skies!
The HEY, which stands for Healthy Empowered Youth, Fair is the culmination of a Program Enhancement initiative. Each school showcases their work in a variety of categories including media, cooking, science, and the arts. Participants see the healthy certified characters enacted in a series of skits, vote on the best of recipes from each school, see health promotion videos created by students, and much more.
Students will get their ideas OUT in the following categories...
Cook It Out
Create and prepare an original recipe for a student-friendly, healthy snack food.
Press It Out
Create a media product to send a message about healthy eating.
Create a message using words and visuals
Create an original script and send your message using drama
Bust It Out
Create an opportunity to “debunk” a health related myth and share your findings in a creative manner
Work It Out
Create a video promoting a healthy activity for teens
